----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: This is old stuff. Go to page 3 for the cooler stuff. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remember those 3D models I made for Morrowind a while back? My current project is getting my character himself into Morrowind. As it is, I'm experimenting in Blender, first, trying to fit things together, modifying existing models to see if I can use them, and other things. So far, I've come out with a model I can use for posing. Here's some pics. Notes:Head: The head model is a modified version of a Mog Mod head. Each iris-and-pupil is a separate object, so I could actually have him look in a different direction without messing with the UV image. The texture was redone using GIMP. Body: A modified version of a clean Better Body mesh that happened to come with a head pack. I had to really smooth it down because: 1) It was too angular. 2) No matter what the lighting angle and viewing angle was, there were shadows under the pectorals that made them look like... well... yeah. Not textured. Shoes: Modified from an existing Morrowind model. I fixed the top, and shortened them so they look a bit more like modern shoes. Not textured. Tails: I made this model myself. Each tail has 14 different bones for posing purposes. (Now that I think about it, I could use the same method I used to create them to make a Sonic Adventure style version of Space, complete with the "noodle arm" effect. I might try that next.) Textured using the GIMP. Weapons: The sword is a model I've made already. The gun, however, was made on the spot. Here's a closer look at the gun: The text on the side uses a Phantasy Star Online font I found on the Internet. Textures for both weapons made using Paint. Here's one last pic, that shows something the other pics don't: This is one of my favorite effects. No matter how dark the lighting, the sword's blade, the rod on the gun, the ring, and Space's eyes emit their own light. And this effect even carries over to Morrowind. If I could figure out how to animate creatures correctly, I could make a pitch black area where you fight some beast that looks like Casino Night zone gone mad. Comments, compliments, and criticism highly appreciated.

Are you planning on making a Morrowind mod with this? Would be funny to see you kill Fargoth.

Are you planning on making a Morrowind mod with this? Would be funny to see you kill Fargoth. What is it about killing Fargoth? I've never really paid much attention to him, myself. Gaenor, however...I'd love to make this into a Morrowind mod, but to tell the truth, I'd have to make a lot of changes to Space that I don't really want to. For one thing, if I wanted to keep the shoes, I'd have to make him a human race, but the human animation models don't have a tail, let alone two. I also think I need something more than Blender to make a proper head, since the heads animate differently than others. As for your idea, Jenohart, although modifying the mog model would be very easy, there's the tail problem: trying to stretch the animation for one tail to two tails would look wierd. And although I could make the head model, someone else would have to animate it. As it is, all I can do is make weapons and armor, and modify existing models bit by bit. I've been slowly adding things to my Mog Mod to help with that. Here's some current screenshots showing my current character, with and without some custom armor. The reason that the first screenshot lacks the mog's wings is that in order to get the chest armor to actually appear, I had to make it part of the neck, which is where the mog wings appear normally. (I think I could fix that now, however.) As for the other mog, well, I'm in the middle of putting together a backstory for my character, and Crystile plays a part in it. And yes, I made the hair models. Here's a screenshot that shows some other things I've made. The picture speaks for itself, and the blue orb thing is a failed project that was too cool to delete. The Met is a model I created from scratch. It would be a fully animated enemy creature (or companion), if Blender could separate animations into animation groups*. As it is, it just sits there and blinks. *Maybe it can, or maybe I don't know how to do it right, but I haven't figured it out yet. Finally, here's a couple pictures of the Space posing model in various poses. Plus a bit of playing around with lighting effects.

METTAUR IS WIN. Also, did you pierce your tail?

The ring in the end of the tail has sorta been there since the redesign I made a long time ago...

I have no idea why everyone wants to kill Fargoth, I just said it as a subtle way of letting you know that I have Morrowind (I also have Oblivion).
Do you have the Morrowind Graphics Extender? And also, you said you can't have human animations with a tail? You obviously haven't seen AlienSlof's Better Bodies for Creature Races.
There's a tail patch for the 'civilised' (non animal feet) versions. Though not animated, they're physiqued so they have some movement when walking and such.
I would post the link but AlienSlof has some adult oriented mods on her website, plus the Better Bodies for Creature Races mod in particular has artistic nudity in the screenshots. I'll PM you the link.

Great, but I do think that the pants are too tight as well.

Okay, here's a version with pants that are a bit less tight. They aren't that much more loose, as I was afraid of screwing up their posability. But they should be loose enough now. And Bishounen.... THANK YOU. I could make a lot more with this mod, including a Tails-based mod. It all depends now on whether Blender can import and export the files correctly. And if I have enough texturing skills.

You're welcome Space. I may not have ever gone farther than Balmora in Morrowind (or the Sewers in Oblivion...i'd get out and that's that), but i'm very big on modding (in fact, that's the reason why I never get anywhere...I just play with the mods).
I'm most savvy when it comes to graphic enhancers and pretty things. If you're into Advent Children people you should search for Ren's mods.
EDIT: Hmm, didn't you once say at one time that you fixed that Sonic mod? Ya know, the one based on the Moogle mod (but used the 'detailed' better bodies), and had missing textures all around? Any chance of uploading that, 'cause I tried to fix the textures myself and it ended up crashing Morrowind.

Any chance of uploading that, 'cause I tried to fix the textures myself and it ended up crashing Morrowind. Actually, I just said I fixed the spike-hand problem with the Mog Mod by myself, plus a bit of texture swapping. I was suggesting that you could probably fix the filename paths and stuff using Blender. As for the hedgehog mod, someone's released a fix for it at Planet Elder Scrolls. EDIT: Here's a couple of models to tide you people over until I can get some work done on the other stuff. It's the Gilded and Razor swords from Majora's Mask. Made without even having to use a texture file. Yes, yes, I know I should probably make the Great Fairy's sword, but I don't want to do that until I can find a good texture of the black rose design on the blade. I could do the Helix blade though. I might round up some of my models and release them as a mod. It depends. EDIT EDIT: I must be better at this than I thought. This model was made using multiple pictures for reference, none of which showed enough of the hilt, but what I've got here is still pretty awesome. This is a perfect example of reusing a trick for something completely different. Earlier, I had figured out a how to add joints to Space's tails in a way that would minimize distortion, and I used the same setup here to get the curves of the blade. Cool, ain't it?

Thanks, i'll try it out once I reinstall Morrowind.
I myself noticed that problem. Not only that but the mod has numerous different textures, both used and unused, sorted into wierd catergories and files. He also needs to learn some organisation. >.>
I tried using NifScope to fix the problem. Is NifTexture a good program?
