That an Everything Else section was a reaaaally bad idea. There are TWELVE (count 'em, twelve) sprite comics on the first page of this forum. That's out of twenty. That's a hell of a lot. I mean I wouldn't be so bothered if they were good, but the thing is most of them... suck. I really used to hate the way Matt hated all sprite comics automatically. But now I can seriously see where he's coming from. SV comics: No. They're old. Stop. What is the point of making a whole list of ten spaces of people to sign up and then make a comic the second someone signs up? Look. If you're going to make a comic, plan it. Give it a story. The only sprite comic I have EVER seen successfully pull off the "random gag" formula is Lol Waffles, and even that has a plot now. Stop. With. The. Comics. Man. Dude. MAN. DUDE.

I agree. Thats all I'm gonna post  . I originally planned a sprite comic (like, a couple months ago) but I KNEW it was gonna suck so I didn't do it. But people don't understand that. And post them anyways. And make our eyes bleed... ;_; |

Only thing is, my comic actually has a storyline. A deep one at that. I can see what you're getting at when n00bs put up crappy comics and say, "OMG THIS COMIC IS TEH ROXXORZ LOL ITS BETTER THAN TEH LOL WAFFLES AND BREAKER IS A N00B" ...That makes me want to kill, but a comic that has a storyline and people look forward to the next issue, they deserve a chance. Still, there are a LOT of sprite comics around, so mabye a new board is in order?

That's the thing about having a basic storyline. You don't have to continually think of something new. You just base it around what's supposed to happen.

I'm relying on a finite yet large fountain of ideas for our comic, AKA Ember Shadow-Hawk...
I hope I'm not trying to make too big a fuss about our comic. I know it's not that good, but it's not that bad either... If it's offended anyone, I'll take it down...

What of a Sprite Comic Sub-section? Might work except that then there'd be nothing to put in this one. I think the reasons for sprite comic dominance are: - They're relatively easy to make (like a series of hoaxes without having to come up with different ideas for each one) - There's no standard for them; no guide of where you're going wrong, hence they appear easy too - People aren't thinking up enough other topics for this forum. C'mon, let's see more art, games, literature and music threads! |

By the end of the week, I'll have written a short story entitled "The Insanity II", which has absolutely no connection to the first one that appeared (and some SVers saw) this time last year.
And I just bumped the SCP topic.
I'll refrain from converting The Randomness into a sprite comic... or even reviving it.
