I never once saw in the bible that gays were hated by God or anything Apparently there's one line in Levictus which says homosexuality is a sin.

I don't get it. Pretty much EVERYTHING in the Old Testament is ignored, like that crap about not eating meat and stuff... Except for the references to homosexuality and masturbation. What's up with that?

Pretty much EVERYTHING in the Old Testament is ignored, like that crap about not eating meat and stuff... *COUGHJUDAISMCOUGH* As for the homosexuality stuff, it never says those words specifically. Even Sodom, often quoted as "the city of gays" was a city of rapists. No allusion to homosexuality is made. As for shaking hands with the bishop, nothing's direct, once again, but Matthew 5:28 does discourage porn, if, once again, indirectly. Matthew 5:30 may be extremely loosely interpreted as against polishing the pole. Hell if I know. EDIT: Wait, crap, I'm supporting a religious debate. Ignore that post.

The bible also states women are just objects to serve men, and black people are slaves and should only be slaves.
You don't see America enforcing that now do ya?
I also once saw a vicar post on 4chan (yah, I know), and apparently the only thing God doesn't like is any sexual activity that doesn't produce offspring, like masturbation, protection, and sodomy. Sounds reasonable, but the again it was from 4chan of all places.

Okay, the line doesn't state homosexuality as a sin, but rather the practice of gay sexual intercourse. This pattern is repetitive throughout the bible, and so homosexuality is a strong cotroversity amongst all Christians. Not all Christians condmen homosexuals; in fact, the Episcopal Church supports homosexuals as leaders in the ministry. As for the "sin" part; in the Old Testament, the utimate for any sin would have been death, however, in the New Testament, Jesus was sent as the perfect sacrifice, due to his sinless life, to die for the sins of man. Thus, we wouldn't need to be put to death for our sins and then could be forgiven of them by God.

At least this isn't turning out like the Wyrdysm forum religious discussion (Two completely irrationally-thinking sides flipping out at each other, I spent the next day in debate with one of the members (SWS))

Well, in order to debunk Christianity, you would also need to debunk Judaism, due to the messaniac prophecies that were written centuries before Christ's birth. As for the inquisitions part. There are always those crazy bastards who interpret evrything in the bible incorrectly or are just too blinded by their own extremism. Anyway, we already had our turn at the persecution game.

I don't even know if I'm Christian or agnostic anymore. I kind of believe in God and all that, but I think prayer and the Bible = bullcrap. ._.
