one, infinity CANNOT BE DEFINED YOU MORON. 2) you are insisting that you are right. keep the attitude up buddy, and you'll find you wont be able to get on. 3) you are wrong. the universe had to have always been here, in some shape or form. the massive amount of gas compressed into the big bang, sending matter EVERYWHERE. religion is SMASHING, there is only science. and infinity is a term, jackass. these are THEORYS, we are not saying you have to belive them, like you insist on telling us to belive your crap. so bug off, you zealous bastard.

1) I think infinity is generally defined as 'endless'. It is not, and I'm talking to you, Fizzzzzzzzzy, affected in any way by time, which is a key role in change. Things can be infinite whilst also changing.
2) People are disputing your beliefs, Fizzz. You're just ignoring them.
3) D is right about the belief thing. Though this is a debate, where you generally try to prove others' beliefs incorrect.

Response to 3 by fizzzzzzy) THEORYS YOU JACKASS. THEORYS. Keep up the jackass attitude and you're gonna get banend, cus im sure i'm not the only one who doesnt like it. assumptions are what you zealous batstards do. theres a difference. theories are assumptions with a bit more strengnth and thought put into them, so they are total possibilitys, so you cant just go dismisiing them. give me proof that the universe hasnt always been here in some form, and i'll give you religious SMASHING.

Besides, fizzz(etc.)y, one of the theories about the universe states that it might not be infinite at all. It might reach a critical mass and begin to implode, eventually compacting back into a single point at an event called the Big Crunch.
The Big Bang, BTW, is the beginning of the whole UNIVERSE, not just individual stars or galaxies. I get the feeling many of the people debating the rightness or wrongness of this theory, on both sides, have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
Unfortunately for you, fizzz(etc.)y, there is strong proof that the universe is expanding, and it comes in the form of something called "red shift" which is kind of the visual version of the zhhhhhhoooooooommm sound a racecar makes at it goes past you. And we're tending to find, using the "red shift", that the stars are all moving outwards and away from a single point, and that is the same thing that happens during an explosion. (Things all get blown away from the explosion, you've surely seen at least one Bruce Willis movie, or LOTR: Two Towers.)
As for your philosophy on infinity, well, riddle me this: infinity or no infinity, what is "the present"? It's the time between "now" and "then", right? So, how long does that last? A second? A millisecond? A femtosecond? Jesus? (Well, you people keep saying how "Jesus is the answer...") A philosopher, like a quantum physicist, can look at any topic and make it make no sense. So don't try philosophical arguments if that's all you can come up with.
Infinity divided by infinity does not equal one. It's not a possible sum to calculate, and if you could, it would equal "Error". Even if you could, and got it to equal one, that doesn't mean the time between any two dates is one, because a specific day, year, etc. in history is by definition not infinite. The year 1630 is not infinite, it's the year 1630. It lasts one year, and then it's over. After that, it's the year 1631. What you're doing is the same as saying that because anything divided by zero is an error, division must therefore be impossible.
Oh, and D? Disagree with him though you may, fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzand so forthy IS entitled to his opinion. I can hack you calling him a moron for some of his weak arguments, but no flaming the guy just because he's part of DJ JC's posse. Likewise, fizz, you can believe in Creation and state your beliefs in rational discussion, and I'm cool with that, it's what you think. I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it and so forth. However, start pouring scorn on people because they don't share your beliefs and you'll be minus mucho respect on my behalf. And if you start any trying to convert people, you'll be out of here before you can say "Repent".
Everyone clear?

Im not sure how someone refuted my claims but thanks for trying to explain why it was an irrational statement \without insulting me tenebrais and matt. I try posting it on a less game based forum to see if some one else can explain what you are saying in a way i can better understand. And D, isnt me insisting on my theory just like you starting that topic "All religious leaders are nuts"? again thanks to those who helped.

insult you? no, i never did insult you. i simply pointed out that you are a zealous nutjob, and i DID point out your flaws, in my own way. stubborn zealous jackasses like yourself get on my nerves, or more or less saw through them. its the fact that you go insulting MY opinions. quote "assumptions assumptions assumptions". arent your religious books ASSUMPTIONS!? BOOYAKA!
next. now, lets jump from begining to end to middle. how is the universe currently holding up.

The universe is holding up quite nicely so far. Who knows? It could be here for eternity.
