Hmm... did you add them to the select text file?

Did you make sure you put the DEF file names in, including the stages?

Try changing the select file. If a single name is wrong or out of place, it can corrupt the game.

EG:

kte, stages/example.def, music=sound/example.mp3

NOT

Knuckles, stages/example.def, music=sound/example.mp3
